Herding Demonstrations

Our Border Collies Cap and Poe are an integral part of the team. We couldn’t do our jobs without them. They move sheep and cattle from pasture to pasture. They assist with health checks by moving the sheep to the barn and then moving them through the handling equipment. They gather up the occasional sheep who have gone off course and they move the sometimes difficult rams here and there. Bred for this work they love their job and can’t wait to get to work in the mornings. When we are bored, we occasionally enter sheepdog trials sponsored by the Northeast Border Collie Association.

Our herding demonstrations show you the basics of how we train and partner with the dogs to get the job done, give a little history on herding dogs in general and on Border Collies in particular. Both Cap and Poe love awing the crowds with their skill and charming the people when they are off duty.

If you are interested in having a herding demonstration at your event, contact Liz liz@morsebrookfarm.com

Sheep Dog Trials and Educational Events

We generally hold a sheep dog trial in late Summer/Fall sanctioned by the Northeast Border Collie Association.

We also sponsor training clinics with expert sheep dog handlers who share their wealth of knowledge with the sheep dog trialing community.
